A message from the Development Fund and Giving Programmes Manager
“The Jesus College Development Fund is a lifeline for so many students here. Whether supporting student scholarships and prizes, bursaries, expanding our access and outreach programmes, and create opportunities for students to partake in College sports arts and wider College life. For many, this is just as, if not more important than all the academic work they undertake, and thanks to the Development Fund we can help make sure everyone can experience the wonders of a full Jesus education without barriers.”
It is only thanks to alumni that any of this possible. It has a direct impact on the student experience at Jesus and the support College can offer. Most importantly, it means that thanks to ongoing alumni support, more students today can attend College without financial burden, can partake in meaningful College extracurricular experiences, and be recognised for their outstanding academic achievements. It is through the creation of new access and extended access bursaries at Jesus that we can ensure College remains a place of both excellence and opportunity.
Every year, we ask for support from alumni to participate in the Development Fund, through appeals in the autumn, a spring telethon, and appeals before the end of Trinity. These annual fundraising efforts are essential in raising vital support for College’s greatest need, and the needs of current Jesus students.
It cannot be understated how much the support of our alumni means to myself, and everyone in the wider College community. I have seen first hand over the last several years, so many students who lives have been positively changed forever thanks to this support. The impact your contributions make to the nearly 700 students that study here it incredible, and we will be forever grateful.”

A word from our Development Fund donors

“I give because I enjoy maintaining an active connection with the college where I spent my happy student days. I also want to support the generations of students who have come after me, and play my part in the continued success of the college.

“My time at Jesus was extremely happy and fulfilling but also set me up for me future as the teaching I received helped to think deeply and develop skills which have been invaluable to me. As a Headteacher, I am a passionate believer in education so the opportunity to support future generations in receiving the opportunities I had, is very important to me.”

“I give to College because Jesus gave me such a lot of support when I was a student. I came from a household where there was absolutely no spare money, and the fact that College reimbursed half of the cost of my books made a huge difference to me. My books were rare and expensive because I was studying Russian.”
